This course explores the impact of digitalization and social media on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and startups. The course will examine the strategies, challenges, and opportunities associated with integrating digital technologies and social media into business operations. Emphasis will be placed on case studies and practical projects to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the role of digitalization and social media in the contemporary business environment.
To understand the concept of digitalization and its relevance to SMEs.
To analyze the role of social media in the business models of SMEs and startups.
To assess the strategic importance of digital tools and platforms for SMEs.
To develop practical skills in applying digital and social media strategies through case studies and projects.
To critically evaluate the opportunities and challenges associated with digital transformation in SMEs.
Students may miss up to 1 session.
Attendance on the final session is mandatory, as the final exam will be conducted during this session.
A multi-method approach is used to achieve the learning outcomes. Specifically, the following teaching methods will be used in this course:

• Group Assignments
• Case Studies
Grades are distributed as follows:
- Peer Review (on an indiviual level within the team) (5%)
- In-class participation (10%)
- Group presentation (25%)
- Group feedback on an assigned group presentation (15%)
- Final exam (45%)
Grading scale:
- 1 (91-100%)
- 2 (81-90%)
- 3 (71-80%)
- 4 (61-70%)
- 5 (0-60%)
