This course accompanies the writing of the master’s thesis by offering a platform for students to discuss their master’s thesis progress with professors and peers. Students receive advice along the entire research process from developing and revising the research question, choosing an adequate research design, data collection, analyzing and interpreting findings, and communicating the outcomes of their research effectively. Active participation in discussions is crucial for successfully completing the course as most parts are held in a colloquium-style teaching format.
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Successfully integrate their marketing knowledge and methodological skills into an academic research project.
- Critically evaluate research with regards to academic rigor, practical relevance, and contribution to the field.
- Provide constructive feedback on their peers’ projects, to defend their own project against critical comments, and integrate these comments into their current research work.
- Further improve their skills in giving and receiving feedback, dealing with criticism constructively, and designing effective presentations.
Most parts are held in a colloquium-style teaching format, complemented by coachings in small groups.
