Time and time again "top in demand job market skills" surveys place Creative Thinking on the first place (Forbes 2024, LinkedIn 2024).
It is a demanded skill for a reason --being creative is hard. Being creative on demand is even harder.
Taming the muse with its fickle nature is a life-long challenge. This course is aimed to get equiped you with the tools that help you with it. You will learn and practice different creativity techniques, work alone and in teams to start building your cretive muscle.
This focuses both on theory and practice of creativity. After the completion of the course you will be able to understand and intentionally leverage creativity when working alone and in team.
Individual creativity:
- Demonstrate your creative potential; how to unlock it, express it, foster it.
- Recognize that creativity is a process, not a flash of blinding light.
Team creativity:
- Foster creativity and innovation when working with others.
- Explore how creativity can be killed/muzzled intentionally or not.
Participation in all sessions is mandatory. You may miss up to max. 20% of in-class hours. However, please note that every next course section builds up on the prior one. Thus, absences should be minimized to ensure your optimal learning outcomes
The course offers a blend of classic lecturing with special emphasis on in-class discussions, active applications of creative exercises and creativity tools. The course is highly interactive and students are expected to contribute throughout the course.
Grading will be based on the following criteria:
- In-class participation (20%)
- Creative exercises (40%)
- Creativity project (40%)
