The course deals with a specific aspect of the real estate industry. The following topics will be discussed on the course: sustainability in real estate, property valuation, affordable housing etc.
The aim of the course is to enable students to deal with concrete problems in the real estate industry.
The general topics (sustainability in real estate, property valuation, affordable housing etc.) are analyzed in a joint discussion and broken down into manageable questions. These questions are addressed by the students in group work. Communication between the groups is maintained through regular reports. The course leaders support the groups in conceptualizing and implementing the selected questions.
The aim is to impart key analytical and social skills such as: defining and structuring questions, teamwork, data-based analysis, operationalization, critical evaluation of results.
In the event of more than two absences - for whatever reason - no assessment is made.
The attendance on the first session is obligatory.
Students collaborate in groups of 3-4, working independently under the guidance and support of the course leader.
During the initial sessions, the lecturer will present examples of research in real estate economics, which will be discussed with the students. The brainstorming method will be employed to help students select their work topics. Once the topic, research question, and methods are determined, students will proceed with their group work independently, receiving coaching and support as needed throughout the project.
Each group is required to deliver one interim presentation, a final presentation, and a comprehensive written report summarizing their work.
