Contents

The overall goal of this seminar course is to provide the students with the skills necessary for the successful use of information systems for solving real-world SCM problems. The seminar projects allow the students to develop skills in a wide range of different IS related topics in the fields of IS implementation and integration, IS modelling, data analytics and/or artificial intelligence. The projects cover real-world IS issues which are often handled together with industry partners. For all projects, modern standard software (e.g., SAP Business by Design, ArcGIS, AnyLogic or R) is used. The obtained skills are necessary for implementing modern planning and execution concepts in real-world SCM processes.

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the class, students should be able to

  • develop an IS-model for a given SCM problem setting
  • customize SCM standard software
  • develop and present solutions in a team
  • synchronize work as part of a larger project team
  • understand the problems arising when integrating several software tools
Attendance requirements

In general, full attendance is intended. Absence in one unit is tolerated if a proper reason is given.
