The overall goal of this seminar course is to provide the students with the skills necessary for the successful use of information systems for solving real-world SCM problems. The seminar projects allow the students to develop skills in a wide range of different IS related topics in the fields of IS implementation and integration, IS modelling, data analytics and/or artificial intelligence. The projects cover real-world IS issues which are often handled together with industry partners. For all projects, modern standard software (e.g., SAP Business by Design, ArcGIS, AnyLogic or R) is used. The obtained skills are necessary for implementing modern planning and execution concepts in real-world SCM processes.

In general, full attendance is intended. Absence in one unit is tolerated if a proper reason is given.

In addition to writing seminar papers in groups (ca. 30 pages, submission 1 month after the end of the seminar), students have to participate actively in the class discussions by asking questions about the topics and presentations of their colleagues and answering short questions about the presented topics.

Grading scale:

(1) Excellent: 90% - 100%

(2) Good: 80% - <90%

(3) Satisfactory: 70% - <80%

(5) Fail: <60%

The successful completion of the course "Advanced Research Methods & Project Management" is the prerequisite for admission to this seminar.
