Die Studierenden bekommen einen Einblick in die Grundfragen, die wichtigsten Konzepte und das methodische Rüstzeug der ökonomischen Analyse des Rechts. Das Ziel der LV ist, die ökonomische Analyse des Rechts in die universitäre Ausbildung zu integrieren.
Die LV ist als Literaturseminar gestaltet. Die Studierenden können ein Kapitel/einen Aufsatz aus den Werken der Literaturliste wählen und sollen es dann im Seminar vorstellen, kritisch diskutieren und schließlich auch analysieren.

Vorkenntnisse sind keine Voraussetzung. Vorausgesetzt wird allerdings die Bereitschaft, sich auch mit formalen mathematischen Argumenten auseinanderzusetzen, und bei Bedarf die nötigen Begriffe und Konzepte zu recherchieren.
